Melissa Renwick is an independent Canadian photojournalist and photographer currently based in Tofino, British Columbia, with a focus on documentary storytelling.

Hailing from the west, Melissa obtained her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Mount Royal University before transitioning her focus to photography.  She previously worked as a staff photographer for the Toronto Star and was named Photojournalist of the Year by the News Photographers Association of Canada in 2015 and 2016.

Her clients include: The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, The Canadian Press, VICE, Getty Images, Reuters and TVO, among others. She has been recognized by The Magenta Foundation and COPA.
